Advent Wreath- 5
Candle Five: This center candle represents the light of the Holy Spirit calling us into a deeper, more faith-filled relationship with him. We have seen how we have fallen by choosing will over worship. How God faithfully calls us from our sin into a covenant relationship with him. We celebrate the sending of our Savior to fulfill the covenant God made with us. We pray for this to be a Christ-filled season when the Holy Spirit convicts us of his desire to make all things new, to empower us with a courageous faith so that we may daily participate in this story of rescue, by sharing the Gospel with the lost, and living our lives with a faith rooted not in what is comfortable, but in the promises of God’s everlasting faithfulness.
Luke 3:16 John answered them all, saying, I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Brian,You don’t need to be a pasotr to be a preacher and theologian, and you are definitely one. I think more problems were solved at Mannings than in the Seminary dining hall, but we never could remember to bring the answers home!
